Brandi Callison, MA

MFT Registered Intern

Brandi is a fifth generation Southern California native who relocated to wonderful Chico from the greater Los Angeles area in early 2017. Brandi has spent the past several years working for the National Alliance on Mental Illness as the Program Director of the LA Warmline, as well as a Community Outreach Co-chair. There, she worked with individuals, families, loved ones and other mental health professionals to help educate, advocate, and navigate through the many life challenges those struggling with mental health issues face. Brandi believes in holding each unique individual as naturally creative, resourceful, and whole, and utilizes this approach with everyone she encounters both in the therapeutic context and in everyday life.

Brandi earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Religious Studies with a minor in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton in 2009 and went on to earn her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Jungian Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2014.  Brandi’s areas of interest include working with children and adolescents, trauma, grief and bereavement, and addiction. Brandi utilizes her Jungian orientation as well as incorporating other modalities to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment for each client.

Brandi is happily married to a retired United States Marine Corps Veteran and has four grown children, two sons (25, 21) and two daughters (27, 19). She proudly boasts the upcoming arrival of her first grandson in June 2017. When not reading, Brandi enjoys getting out in nature, backpacking in Yosemite or hiking in Bidwell Park with her husband and her dogs, Jasper, Butch, Sitala and Sam.
